Life update for those who might care...

First, I must say that Pondfest makes me spend money. Last year after Pondfest I bought an IPOD and this year...... read on...

OK, I don't know if I got PPD (Post Pond Fest Depression) but I definitely had a bad start to my week. As talked about around the muck, I went out Monday after work with Jim to but a new lawn mower. After quite a time comparing and fretting I decided to take the plunge and fork out 450.00 for a Honda Duel Cut self-propelled model with a nice bagger.

I get it home in time to mow my tiny front yard and after using the mower for no more than 10 minutes my back is hurting something fierce and I have determined that I don't like my new mower. It's heavy to back-it up and heavy to push without the power assist and when self-propelled I feel like I am fighting with it every inch of mowing (more later in e-mail).

So I go in side not in the best of moods and head to the bathroom to do some business and upon stepping into my bathroom find my socked feet soaked as there is at least an inch of water covering most of my bathroom floor.

It seems that as I left the bathroom that morning it stopped up, not enough to overflow but enough that as it seems my toilet runs a bit all the time therefore over about 12 hours it overflowed the tank and sopped the floor.

After cleaning up the water and convincing myself there was not an actual leak I went back to the couch with Jim to watch TV.

About 45 minutes later I ask Jim what am I hearing as it sounded like it was raining in my kitchen, Jim said it was just probably rain hitting the side of the house. But alas no it was raining in my kitchen; water was pouring from the light fixture. So a few pots under the drips later and several trips to the bathroom, I once again convinced myself (mostly) that there wasn't a leak and that the rain in the kitchen was from the water that had set upon the bathroom floor for so many hours.

So the ceiling is dry at end of week and I think I have convinced myself that once I get used to the clutch on the mower and practice a bit that I will live and maybe even love my new Honda.

And of course coming home today and finding a package on my porch was a wonderful surprise. I hurriedly opened the box and began to scoop out the packing peanuts and smelled long before I saw my new.... left blank in case others haven't received theirs yet (if we all got the same)...

so THANK YOU A, H and M for the gift and I can't wait to come be part of your family again.

Update, as of tonight I am liking my mower a bit more and after mowing my front and part of my back my back is not killing me.

And talk of spending money... my Dryer is dying so I purchased a new one ON-LINE tonight... I will let all know about the experience.

And on another buying mode, my friend Jim purchased a new car this past weekend (I'm SO jealous). Here is a PIC of his new 2008 Dodge Avenger.

Yes, this in in my Driveway so you can see a little bit of my house.

Holy Mackerel Shannon! I'd say you packed a year's worth of stuff in that week. Glad to see things are perking up a bit!

    THE AVENNNNNNNGER.... it's very Jim.
