Sondheim on Acid!!!

I just got back from seeing the new Tim Burton take on Sondheim's Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

I give it two big bloody thumbs up!

While I miss the Chorus and a few minor songs, the visual bleakness of Burton's London and the most excellant acting of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter and the brillent casting of Alan Rickman as the evil Judge Turpin (you actually end up rooting for Sweeney to kill him!) all make for a wild blood filled ride of the darkest kind.

Can't wait to go see it again!
